Bulgarian Title HONOURED PILOT
This award is extremely rare! It belongs to the first, initial emission, and is characterized by an old-type ribbon. It is a perfect example of the fines work of the Bulgarian Mint, when its style was known for its excellence. The award itself is a 3-layer piece:
- a mirror-like finish of the flat surface of obverse, in yellow color;
- opaque relief details - sun rays also in yellow color;
- and opaque relief of a plane with wreath in white color;
The title is in perfect, excellent condition!
Instituted: On 18th January 1979, by the State Council of the People's Republic of Bulgaria.
Awarded to: Pilots from the Military Air Force and civilian pilots for considerable contributions and long and loyal service.
Form: On the reverse, at the background of sunrays, is represented a flying aircraft. Above is the state coat of arms. On the footer is the HONOURED PILOT inscription. The award comes with a metal bar having a blue ribbon.
