Bulgarian Peoples Order of Labor, 2nd Emission, 3rd Class + Case

Instituted: On 21st June 1945
Awarded to: workers, farmers, leaders of work groups, scientists and art people for their excellent work, high achievements and  overdoing the plans set, as well as for innovations and excellent organization. Also, the order was awarded to art people and scientists for their long service. The awarded people were both of Bulgarian and foreign origin.
Form: round, 33 mm in diameter. The classes are: 1st (gilted), 2nd (silver) and 3rd (bronze). The medal has a triangle ribbon for men and a bow-like ribbon for ladies. The award was attached to the ribbon by means of a miniature wreath-like eyelet which stopped to be used after 1950.
Obverse: An embossed image of a worker standing on his knee and holding a hammer, cogwheel and wheat spike: the communist symbols of industrial, agricultural and craftsmen labor.
Reverse: There is inscribed: "Peoples Order of Labor".
Classes: 3 classes. The first emission has orders for ladies (with bow-like ribbon). Those variants don't appear in the emissions to come.
Emissions:
1. The first emission was awarded by 1950. There is a wreath-like eyelet between the order and the ribbon.
2. The 2nd emission was issued after 1950 and existed up to 1977. It lacked the wreath, though.
3. From 1977 up to 1991 came into use a new emission. It is characterized by a five-angle shape of the obverse. There can be noticed a hammer and a sickle; and on the reverse is inscribed: "Order of Labor - Gold (respectively silver or bronze) PRB".
Awarded: The first awarding took place in 1946.
