REEDS FOR DJURA GAIDA (in G or D)

This set of reeds contains two reeds - one for the Gaidanitca , and one for the Ruchilo. You can chose the tonality of the reeds - G or D. The reeds for Djura gaida in D are slightly longer.

The bagpipe tone is achieved through the reeds called "piskuni" in Bulgarian. These are thin cylindric reed tubes, with a "tongue" cut lengthwise. The lower end of the reed is enwrapped with thread, which serves for tuning the basic key of the chanter by changing the length of the resonating "tongue".

gaidunitsa reed for G key - 4,9 cm/ 1,9Â” ; ruchilo reed Â– 8,5 cm / 3,3Â”
gaidunitsa reed for D key - 5,5 cm/ 2,1Â” ; ruchilo reed Â– 8,9 cm / 3,5Â”

The price of the reeds in different keys is the same. Just note in the order form which tonality you would prefer.
