Original Bulgarian Firefighter helmet, WWII model
This is an original Bulgarian Firefighter helmet, a pre WWII model. These were the helmets used by the Royal Fire forces in 1940s, during the WWII. After the war, in 1950s, the new communist rule continued to make use of the same helmets - only the symbols at the front were changed. The royal metal patch was replaced by the communist pentacle with crossed pickaxe and nozzle.
The helmet is nickel-plated, in perfect condition despite its age, as can be seen from the pictures provided. The liner size is 57-58, the chinstraps are of the Y-type. The helmet has never been used, had been covered with grease while kept in store, before we displayed it in our auction and site.
Rare item for the collectors.
