Rare Serbian M26 Adrian helmet, 1 piece construction

We offer rare Serbian Adrian helmet M26 , made in France for the Serbian army.

The helmet has an interesting story. During the WWII Bulgaria royal army is a German ally . In 1941 Germany occupied Greece and Yugoslavia. Some neighbor lands staid under Bulgarian control till 1944. Most probably these helmets were taken during the occupation of Macedonia. The Adrian helmets were not typical for Bulgarian army that is why were given to the Bulgarian fire forces and Civil defence regiments to fill the gaps of insufficient equipment. They were used during the WWII, here including the air-raid over Sofia in 1943.

The Royal Serbian badge was removed and replaced with the emblem of Bulgarian firefighter services, which is similar to the original French cockade. On some of the helmets we have there are visible very clear marks of the Serbian badge where it was used to be positioned...

The shell is of one piece construction , and retains its original paint (only at some places can be seen the green paint that helmet received during the service in the Royal fire department, but it is almost gone as seen on the pictures provided). There is a missing rivet in front of the helmet crest but it can be easily restored.
Liner marked with Cyrillic stamp of Bulgarian State Military Factory "DVF". At the front, under the Bulgarian royal fire forces badge are still visible the marks of another badge, could be Serbian but also Russian imperial .
Liner size:  56/US 7
