GERMAN WWI M16 HELMET used in Bulgarian royal army

This is original German M16 helmet, found in Bulgaria. Prepared to be used in Bulgarian army during the WWI and WWII. We found this one in Bulgarian military stock
During the WWI and the 1st part of WWII Bulgaria is ally of Germany . For this reason our military forces have used German military equipment in the WWI and WWII. Till the end of the WWII Bulgaria became ally of USSR and a lot of armament and equipment have stayed here and used again. After 9.IX 1944 the Communist regime was established.
The German helmet has been repainted for 2 reasons:
1. To hide the German military symbol painting on the helmet
2. To prepare it for new use. Also the leather liner and the chinstraps were changed with new ones. After this the helmets were kept into a deep military stock as iron ration and our army has never used them in battle. This is the reason so at the moment helmets are in excellent condition.

Liner size: EU 60/US 7 1/2. The original stmped numbers are "Si66" and "B 640"
