WWI Rare Interesting scabbard for Unknown combat knife bayonet

This is an interesting rare scabbard for unknown combat knife bayonet. We guess it is from the period before or during the WWII. It is most probably of German or Austrian origin. The scabbard is massive, with total length 16,3 cm/ 6,4 inches, outer diameter 2,6 cm / 1 inch. The section is strange , quite large: long 2,3 cm / 0,9 inches x maximum large 1,4 cm / 0,55 inches.

The scabbard is nickel plated. Despite the small corrosion seen at few places it is in very good condition.

There is also a leather carrier attached to the scabbard.
