The Orthodox Chamber Vocal Ensemble conducted by Vivian KLOCHKOV presents one of the most significant works in Bulgarian church music. Dobri HRISTOV belongs to the early generation of Bulgarian composers whose erudition and professionalism are at their best in the vocal genres. On the basis of the old East-Orthodox tradition, with the inclusion of romantic elements from the 19th century church music, he has created an exciting, emotional and elevated work for choral performance which has received great popularity. D. Hristov's LITURGY consists of a series of traditional chants (the greater part of which are also performed as concert numbers) at the Church-Slavonic religious service.
