Bulgarian Title MOTHER HEROINE
The title we have available is in perfect condition. It is of the second emission of the award, and is marked by the jeweller-maker: with a small number that can be seen sideways on one of the rays.
Weight: 16.5 -17.5 grams, 14 carats. Original suspension and ribbon.
The award is considered very rare these days, for only 1116 people were honored with it.
Instituted: On 13th December 1950, with a decree of the Presidium of the National Assembly. At first, it was called "Mother's Glory" but on 9th of June 1952 was renamed to "Mother - Heroine".
Awarded to: Mothers who gave birth and raised ten or more children.
Form: The badge of this title is made of GOLD and has the shape of a five-pointed star. It was to be worn on the left breast and came with a wavelike ribbon made of metal. On the ribbon itself reads: "MOTHER HEROINE".
