Bulgarian Order Peoples Republic of Bulgaria, 2rd emission, 3rd Class
Instituted: by decree, on 18th June 1947, to mark the establishing of the Peoples Republic of Bulgaria on 15 September 1946.
Awarded to: Military people and citizens for their great achievements and success.
Form: Oval shape; size: 44x42 mm. Embossed National coat of arms, placed on 10 gold-like sheaves of 3 rays each.
Classes: By 1950 the order came in 5 classes. In the very same year the Presidium of Great Assembly decreed that the number of classes should be reduced to three only. The 1st class is made of gold, whereas the 2nd class is made of white metal; the difference between them is in terms of ray shape. The size of the 3rd class is: 40x38 mm. All the three classes are characterized by a ribbon suspension colored in the three national colors.
Emissions: In comparison to the later emission, the first-emission order has a screw back. The main difference between the 1st emission and the 2nd one is that at the front of the first-emission order can be seen the old NRB coat of arms.
