One of the basic lines of Chrisoff's creative work is indeed the the interpretation of Russian singing heritage: starting from folk patterns and passing through author's pieces. His special merit for popularizing Russian composers' songs is to be stressed- numerous concert performances of pieces by Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Gretchaninov, Rahmaninov, the members of the so- called "Five": Balakariev, Cui, Rimsky- Korsakov, Borodin and last but not least Modest Moussorgsky. The latter's "Boris Godounov" is considered the opera where B. Christoff revealed his unmatched vocal skills and artistic power in a most magnificent way.
