The second release of this series presents once again some of the masterpieces of great musicians. Most of the works have been arranged by Jules Levy, a composer and conductor. The release also attracts the listenerÂ’s attention with the Bulgarian performers taking part in the recording. The violinist Yossif Radionov plays the solo parts in Fritz KreislerÂ’s Vienna Caprice and Georgi Zlatev-CherkinÂ’s Sevdana with fascinating virtuosity and emotional feelings. Barcarole from Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hofmann has preserved its characteristic richness of sound owing to the subtle and masterly performance of Georgi Zhelyazov, oboe (English horn) and Simeon Shterev, flute. Mayer Frank, piano, presents with a sense of style and colour DebussyÂ’s Moonlight.
The programme features works of different styles and genres starting with Handel’s Largo, through Massenet’s Elegy, Saint-Saens’ The Swan and finishing with Gershwin’s Lyrical Scene from “Porgy and Bess” and Jules Levy’s Humoresque. All the compositions are interpreted in an original manner by stressing on their specific features in terms of melody and structure. A musician of thorough musical knowledge, the conductor Jules Levy is to be credited for this successful interpretation, characterized by a feeling of tranquility and lyricism, and giving aesthetic pleasure and relaxation to the listener.
