Maria PRINZ graduated from the Hanns Eisler Hochschule fur Musik in Berlin having studied in Prof. Rudolf Dunckel's class (1975-80). In 1981 she furthered her education with Jorg Demus in Vienna and in with Yvonne Lefebure in Paris. She is an active concertizing artist with appearances in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Japan, the USA, Italy. In the last few years the pianist renewed her extensive concert activities in Bulgaria as soloist at concerts of the Sofia Philharmonic, taking part with solo concerts in the March Music Days - Rousse, the Pianissimo - 2000 international music festivals, among many others. In 2000 she performed the Bulgarian premiere of Messiaen's Oiseaux exotiques. Besides performing as a soloist Maria Prinz has made numerous appearances in chamber-music formations with instrumentalists from the Vienna and Chicago philharmonic orchestras, and before all with her husband Alfred Prinz, a famous Vienna clarinetist and composer.
