Bulgarian WWII Air Forces Royal Pilot Dagger

The dagger was manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. Its full length is 31,6 cm, the dagger part only is 24,6 cm. The blade is 15,7 cm long and 1,4 cm wide. On one side of the blade reads: "For the King and Mother land". On the other side can be noticed King Boris III's monogram: a "B" with a crown. Near the cross guard is engraved the manufacturer's sign (Carl Eickhorn).

The grip comprises two parts: a plastic one, which is polished, and a gilted one: an ornament made of bronze. The ornament is a composition of an eagle's head with ruby eyes and engraved interlaced work in Old Bulgarian style with the coat of arms of the Bulgarian kingdom.

The cross guard is actually a propeller with an engine. The air engine is 8-cylindrical and it's moulded of silver.
The scabbard is 23 cm long and is made of metal. There are 3 gilted bronze elements on the scabbard, which are in old Bulgarian style too. The bottom part is like an eagle's leg holding a small ball which reminds of the Globe.

A very rare original dagger in great condition!
