Original Czech Mannlicher bayonet ZP, M95 + frog mark 1942 « Bulgarian Militaria « Edged weapons « Home
Here is an original bayonet Steyr Manlicher M1895, with rare markings and frog. The bayonet is interesting mostly because of its stamps telling about the bayonet's military life. The Mannlicher bayonet you see was made in Czech factory Zbrojovka, Prague. Before and after WWII it was used in Bulgaria by the royal military police and gendarmerie.
The bayonet is 37,5 cm/14,8 inches long ( including scabbard); the bayonet only is 35,7/ 14 inches. The blade is 24.5 cm/9,6 inches.
The blade would be perfect if there weren't 1 small cracks on the edge. On the pommel can be noticed a lion and rhomb and a number "23" - acceptance year in Czech army. On the blade stands the Czech marking "ZP" Zbrojovka Praha - located in Prague. On the scabbard's clasp can also
be noticed Czech army "ZP" stamp .
The bayonet completes with original WWII carrier - it bears a Bulgarian army stamp with date : March, 1942; and also it was part of IV / 4th commissariat. Carrier made of thick genuine leather.
The bayonet is in original, close to perfect condition with authentic Rare frog carrier! Blade was grease covered before we took photos of it. It was exactly this grease that helped the bayonet to be preserved in Bulgarian army stock houses for over 70 years .
This is an excellent, perfect item for bayonet collectors, don't miss it !
