We offer you original Steyr Mannlicher bayonet, 1895 model, with scabbard and leather carrier.
The bayonet is manufactured in Budapest, intended for Bulgarian royal army. Full length of the bayonet: 37,5 cm/14,8 inches. The blade only is 24,8 cm /9,6 inches. The blade is perfect, in its upper end, on one side can be noticed: "F.G. G.Y." which stands for the name of the Hungarian manufacturer: "Femaru Fegyver es Gepgyar, Budapest". On the other side of the blade can be noticed the Hungarian coat of arms with cross. The marks on both sides are rarely clear and visible. On the cross guard is stamped the number 628_ most probably designing its entrance as Austrian or Hungarian army's inventory. After that with another number 8106 bayonet was ascribed to Bulgarian Royal army.
Most interesting here is the stamps on the crossguard - there are numbers 2 and 5 , also a round stamp "KK 10". This is quality control (Kachestven Kontrol) mark from the communist rule , made in Bulgarian factory.
Blade in perfect condition! It has never been used and was covered in grease which
was removed before we took photos of the bayonet. It was exactly this grease that helped the bayonet to be conserved in the Bulgarian army stock houses for over a century now.
The scabbard's clasp is marked: "F.G. G.Y.", and also has the Hungarian coat with a cross.
The carrier is original and is made of genuine leather, most probably Austrian or German production during the WW1.
Rare bayonet in great shape!
