Rare Original Bulgarian royal Infantry dagger M1936 Solingen
We are offering rare original royal dagger of an infantry officer. This model was approved by the Bulgarian royal army in 1936. The first emission of these daggers was made by Robert Klaas in Solingen and distinguishes for its exquisite make. On parade occasions the dagger is to worn by means of textile suspenders and in the rest of the time they were replaced by leather ones, like the one we are offering. This is the first emission of these daggers was made by Robert Klaas in Solingen, please see the producer’s stamp on the blade.
After that they have been produced in Bulgaria after German model.
Full dagger’s length: 40cm/15,7 inches
Blade’s length: 26 cm/10,2inches
The blade is nickel plated and engraved with exquisite ornaments. On the one side stands the inscription “God with us”, on the other side one can notice King Boris III. Monogram – crowned “B”. The blade is in almost perfect condition.
The hilt is made of specific yellow material and has a beautiful silver crown on the top and also silver ring on the base part, decorated with oak leaves and acorns. There are lion heads on the both sides of the silver scrossguard. In the middle is placed a shield with standing lion and on the other side stands the oldest Bulgarian royal order for bravery 1912.
The scabbard is silver - plated with two metal rings, decorated with oak leaves. Its length is 28,5 cm/11,2inches. The dagger comes with its original carrier made of genuine leather.
It’s visible from the pictures provided that the officer has sewed the ring to the carrier by him self, probably because of more security.
The dagger we are offering is in perfect collector’s condition with nice preserved patina and details. Perfect for collection and extremely difficult to find especially because of the fact that during the communist regime in Bulgaria all royal items were banned and destroyed.
