Full set Very rare Original Bulgarian Royal Police Dagger Model 1934

We are pleased to offer you this very rare original dagger of a royal police officer. The model can be dated to 1934. The dagger was used before and during the WW2. At that time there are about 350 – 400 officer only serving in the royal police and having the right to wear such dagger. After WW2 the communists started repressions that aimed to destroy all symbols and representatives of royal regime. The owners of all kinds of royal objects were fiercely pursued and sent to a labor camps. That is why nowadays is left a very small quantity of the royal police daggers. The one we are offering has belonged to a an officer of the criminal police in Plovdiv.
The royal police dagger became part of the military uniform in 1934. There are 3 very similar emissions known. The first one is made in Germany. Most probably the one we are offering is of the second emission made in Germany too.

The blade is nickel plated and engraved with exquisite ornaments. On the one side stands the inscription “God with us”, on the other side one can notice King Boris III. Monogram – crowned “B”. The blade is in almost perfect condition.
The hilt is made of black horn, polished with double twisted wire and has a beautiful silver crown on the top and also silver ring on the base part, decorated with oak leaves and acorns. There are lion heads on the both sides of the silver crossguard. In the middle is placed the royal coat of arms and on the other you can notice a shield where the officer’s initials have to be engraved. The scabbard is silver - plated with two metal rings, decorated with oak leaves.

Below the one lion’s head is attached a small ring with small pendant called “temliak”. This is a very rare beautiful and absolutely original gagger’s attribute. The black leather was a bit torn and then sewn on. Temliak ends with a small ellipse with metal and silk tassels. The scabbard is chrome -plated with two metal rings, decorated with oak leaves. There is a parade
carrier made of dark velvet with metal buckles and snap hooks.
The dagger we are offering is in very nice condition of very high collector’s quality. Perfect for collection and extremely difficult to find especially because of the fact that during the communist regime in Bulgaria all royal items were banned and destroyed.
