Old Bulgarian Firefighter Helmet, WWII model with Early communist insignia
This is an original Bulgarian Firefighter helmet, a model of 1930s. These were the helmets used by the Royal Fire forces in the 1940s during the WWII. After the war, in '50s the new communist rule continued to make use of the same helmets - only the insignia at the front was changed. The royal metal patch-emblem was replaced by the communist five-pointed star with pick-spade crossed with a nozzle. The helmet is made of brass. There are small clamps sideward the helmet intended for attaching a transparent shield that is to be keep fireman’s face save.
The helmet is in authentic condition, it has nice-looking patina on the shell. Still, the helmet's shell is in almost perfect condition even with the spots. The liner is original and is in very good condition. It is of M size and is attached to the shell by means of 4 rivets.
On the inside can be noticed a round stamp, made by Bulgarian fire forces. The Y-type chinstraps of the helmet are in VG absolutely authentic condition, too.
The shell is carefully but not entirely cleaned, so you can see the beautiful glitter.
On the whole, the helmet makes a rare find for the collectors!
