The present catalogue is the first to present a more general picture of the most important treasures of early Christian and Medieval art in Bulgaria within their historical and cultural contexts. The focus of the catalogue extends from the early Christian "art" of the last decades of the Roman Empire to the years immediately preceding the fall of Constantinople.
