BULGARIAN TRADITIONAL FLUTE KAVAL-DUDUK (2 parts) in B, HORN « Woodwind « Bulgarian Folk instruments « Kavals « Home
It is made of cornel tree (Cornelian cherry). For the make of the insertion parts is employed deer horn, the rings are made of metal. The instrument is 72 cm long, consisting of 2 parts: the duduk part has a small hole as it is the case with duduk instrument, the kaval (lower) part has the finger holes typical for kaval. The instrument is in B (si) pitch- from B flat to G in the second octave
The combination of the two parts is extremely good for beginner players who find it hard to produce tones out of the traditional kaval instrument.
As it goes to this kaval duduk instrument, it is blown just as duduk but the fingering is characteristic of the kaval. The instrument is of perfect make, with its tone qualities excellent, too. The kaval-duduk is an excellent option both for beginner players and for professional musicians who want to experiment with something new and more uncommon.
