# 56 Bulgarian Medal for "Merit to the Civil Defence", 3rd class

Instituted: On 23rd April 1976 by decree No.: 502 of the State Council of NRB
Given to: citizens for their merits in building of the Civil Defence in NRB. Also awarded were military service men from the groups of Civil Defence for contributing in organization, trainings and battle skills. To foreign citizen the medal is given for their merits to Civil Defence.
Form: The medal has circle shape with 30 mm of diameter.Made of yellow metal.
Averse: On a rayed base there is red enameller five angle shape star. In the center of the star is written "For merits to Civil Defence Â– NRB". The ribbon is red and with a rectangular shape.
Classes: Has 3 classes - 1st class is guilted, 2nd class silvered and 3rd class is dark oxidized.
