# 88 Jubilee Medal "100 Years April Uprising 1876-1976"
Instituted: On 17th January 1976 for the anniversary during the April Uprising. The biggest rebellion organized in Bulgaria for the 500 years Turkish rule. It didnÂ’t succeed and was covered in blood, but attracted the international community and year later the Russian Army enter Bulgaria and won the Liberation War giving independence to Bulgaria.
Given to: To all villages for participation in the Uprising and to Bulgarian and foreign citizens.
Form: Circle shape made of light-yellow metal in two variants - for citizens with 33 mm diameter and for villages with 60 mm of diameter. Obverse: A famous cherry cannon - the symbol of the Uprising artillery. The background is a mountain. Reverse: In five rows is written "100 Years April Uprising 1876- 1976". The ribbon is with five-angle shape, green with yellow line on the edges.
