Original WW2 Bulgarian German ally army gas mask , 1936

We offer rare original German ally army gas mask used in WWII.

As German ally during the two world wars Bulgarian army was equipped with German accoutrements or such were made in Bulgarian on German model. Such is the case with Bulgarian gas masks – they were modeled after the "Gasmaske 200 model 109" from 1933 of the Draeger factory. This last one gave the producer license to the Bulgarian state factory – DVF (Durjavna Voenna Fabrika) in the town of Kazanluk. The factory made two main types gas masks. The first earlier one has a metal flap situated aside. While the second later model has a rubber flap based on a bakelite body . It bears the Bulgarian royal coat of arms.

The gas mask we offer is of 1st early type - with metal flap , which has a mica vent inside . Most probably these parts were imported from Germany. The rubber inside is very well preserved. There are several stamps – producer' stamp; producer/ serial number and make date: "5.11.1936". The filter preserves a label that gives some details on the gas mask use: "Gas mask filter of type 1, number …. Tested on 4.VIII. 1939 g. Keeps from all acid gas and all types smokes and frogs".

The gas mask completes with canvas bag with shoulder strap. Bag is marked by the producer and it's also identical to the German model.

There ara also gas mask’s filter and small round plates against respiration.

Set in very good authentic condition ! A find for every WWII military collection!
