Original photos of Bulgarian Prince Kyril at ceremony for inauguration of Combat Flags « Photos « Home
These are two original photos from official ceremony lead by Prince Kyril of Bulgaria , son of Ferdinand I. Prince Kyril is on foreground, in parade unform with all high ranknig breast stars, and sabre. On the second picture the general on oath is most probably Nikola Mihov, one of the 3 Bulgarian regents after Boris' III death.
These pictures actually could be the oath-ceremony of the regents government on 9th September 1943 . But it could be also an inauguraton of Combat flags in late 1930s -40s.
After the war, both Prince Kiril and general Mihov are executed to death by the new communist government.
On the background are seen the army regiments in parade order. Most probably ceremony held in the Military academy in Sofia.
Unfortunately the photographs have not been well preserved , the pictures received some moisture spots like... Despite their condition, photos bring memories of the turbulent historical events in Bulgaria during the WWII.
Size of each photo: 13 x 18 cm
