Stanke Dimitrov medal
This is an embossed medal bearing the image of Stanke Dimitrov (1889-1944) who was a well known Bulgarian communist and educator. He died in 1944, three months after the Communist takeover of Bulgaria. A town situated in South west Bulgaria was named after him. Nowadays, the name of the town is different due to the fall of Communist regime and change of ideology. Nevertheless, this communist- idealist is still respected by the citizens of the town and by the people acquainted with his deeds.
