BULGARIAN TRADITIONAL FLUTE KAVAL-DUDUK (2 parts) in D, HORN « Woodwind « Bulgarian Folk instruments « Kavals « Home
The instrument is made of cornel tree. For the insertion parts is employed deer horn. The instrument is 57 cm/ 22” long, consisting of 2 parts: the duduk (upper) part has a small hole as it is the case with duduk instrument, the kaval (lower) part has the finger holes typical for kaval. The instrument is in D (re) pitch. Made by Victor Terziyski.
The combination of the two parts is extremely good for beginner players who find it hard to produce tones out of the traditional kaval instrument. As it goes to kavalduduk, the instrument is played just as duduk, but the fingering is characteristic of the kaval. The instrument is of perfect make, with its tone qualities excellent, too.
Kavalduduk is an excellent option both for beginner players and for professional musicians who want to experiment with something new and more uncommon.
