The order is of the initially early emission, numbered on the back
Instituted: by decree of the Presidium of the Great Assembly on 13th December 1950
Awarded to: mothers who gave birth to and raised 4 and more children
Form: Oval, in the center can be noticed a mother surrounded by her 5 children, a soldier, a miner, two girls and a boy. At the background rise two chimneystacks. Wheat twigs surround the order and there reads the inscription: "For Mother's Glory". All classes are of one and the same size: 37 x 37 mm.
Classes: 3 classes. The 1st class is awarded to mothers with 8-9 children, the 2nd for 6-7 children and the 3rd one: for 4-5. The order comes with a light-blue ribbon, with a silver line on the edges (this is typical of all classes).
Emissions: There exist two main emissions of the order:
First emission The orders are suspended on blue-colored bow ribbon. Initially, the orders were numbered. Later, however, maybe somewhere around the 1960s, there started to be awarded pieces without serial numbers on the reverse.
Second emission From the end of '70s -beginning of '80s, the orders were issued with metal ribbons with the national colors, Also, the first class was made of yellow metal, the 2nd and 3rd: of white metal. Another difference between the new and older emissions is the hollow reverse with edging of different size.
