GERMAN WWI M16 HELMET used in Bulgarian royal army

This is original German M16 helmet, found in Bulgaria in Bulgarian military stock.

M16 helmets have been used in Bulgaria during WWI and WWII, when country sow alliance with nazzy Germany. For this reason Bulgarian army used mainly German military equipment. Till end of the WWII Bulgaria became ally of USSR and after 9.IX 1944 the Communist regime was established. A lot of German armament and equipment was stocked by the militaries. The helmets were repainted for two reasons: To hide the German military symbol painting on the helmet and also to prepare it for a new eventual use. Also the leather liner and chinstraps were changed with new ones. After this the helmets were kept into a deep military stock as iron ration and our army has never used them in battle. This is the reason so at the moment helmets are in excellent condition.

Liner size: about 60-62/US 7 1/2. The original stmped numbers are "Si66" and "Bi 546"
