Rare WW2 Bulgarian royal Police high ranking officer shoulder pieces
We are offering this very rare set of royal shoulder pieces belonged to a high ranking officer in the WW2 period.
The first couple of years after the Second World War the new communist power put all its efforts in destroying everything that concerned the Bulgarian royal period. One of the most persecuted people was the royal police officers. All kinds of royal staff like uniforms, signs, were banished and destroyed and their owners brutally punished.
That is why a very few items are left and preserved at present. The shoulder pieces we are offering were part of the chief officer’s uniform in Vraca district – Colonel Alexander Barumov. You can see him and his wife on the pictures (made 1940 as reads on the picture’s back) provided. They are not for sale!!!
The model of the shoulder pieces is unique, characterized by six -angle stars and tinsel stripes typical of the high ranking police officers in one particular period ONLY.
They are covered with silver tinsel and soft woolen material on the back. The tree six angle stars indicate the rank of the officer – colonel and in the middle you can see the initials of the Bulgarian royal police BDP – Bulgarian State Police and the royal crown above.
On the metal buttons are depicted the state royal coat of arms – shield and standing crowned lion and crown above. The shoulder pieces come with its original attaching strings.
