We offer an original and rare overcoat of Bulgarian air forces fighter pilot. It was part of the winter combat uniform, modeled in 1936 and used during the WWII.
The shoulder pieces and collar tabs are of a first lieutenant “poruchik” / or flying officer of the royal air forces. The buttons bear King Boriss’ monogram – the crowned “B”.
Size is M, length of sleeve 64 cm / 25” (it could be regulated by the hem)
The over coat is in authentic VG+ condition. The lining is a bit frayed at some places; and there are small holes on bottom but it is difficult to be seen.
This part of uniform is really rare having in mind the small number of Bulgarian pilots, as well as the repressions and destroying of all items related to royal pilots after end of the WWII when communists took the government.
What we have here is a museum piece, keeping the spirit of the Bulgarian fighter pilots - the heroes of the legendary fights in the sky above Sofia !
