Jubilee medal of 100 years Pleven epic battle - 1st type

This particular medal represents the first type of the medal: this is actually the1st class with a bigger diameter. On the obverse is visible the Monument dedicated to the heroic battle of Pleven. On the reverse is inscribed: Â“100 Years of the Heroic battle of PlevenÂ”.
The medal is a part of the series of medals dedicated to commemorating 100 years of the liberation of Bulgaria (at our site we have 2 official medals: one for 100 years of the Liberation and another for 100 years of the April uprising + several other unofficial medals).
This medal was dedicated to the historic battle of Pleven, part of the Russian-Turkish war for Bulgarian liberation that took place in 1877-1878. This particular battle was one of the significant examples of the Bulgarian heroism that proved itself in fighting back the Turks from a key point as the town of Pleven.
